Scite, a subscription-based artificial intelligence platform

After successful trial in October-November 2024, the artificial intelligence-based platform Scite is subscribed for University community.

Scite analyzes and provides citation context for scientific papers, helping researchers evaluate the credibility and impact of scholarly articles.

Scite tool Assistant lets ask questions and gives an answer with insight and control into its thought process. It is a chat experience like ChatGPT, but with real, up to date references. It is possible to select filters for the Assistant task (Assistant Settings), including: letting Assistant decide whether references are needed, or override its behavior; specifying year ranges, topics, publication types, or journal names as filters when searching for papers; controlling the length of Assistant responses.

Training department of Oxford University Press invites to three sessions on “How to Publish with Oxford Journals” scheduled in the month of January, 2025.

At the end of the session the learner will be able to walk away with an understanding of the publishing process and the steps you should follow when preparing to publish for the first time.

Trial access to Mathematics Source

Mathematics Source is a new full-text database for mathematics studies. It provides access to 809 active full-text, peer-reviewed journals and covering topics in both pure and applied mathematics and related fields. Created by subject matter experts, the robust thesaurus in Mathematics Source contains over 4,000 terms. It was developed to ensure that students and researchers can understand and easily navigate the unique terminology used in mathematics. Mathematics Source includes 560 active full-text journals not available in any version of Academic Search.

Subscribed database PsycInfo (EBSCO)

The APA PsycInfo database, American Psychological Association’s (APA) renowned resource for abstracts of scholarly journal articles, book chapters, books, and dissertations, is the largest resource devoted to peer-reviewed literature in behavioral science and mental health. It contains records and summaries dating as far back as the 1600s. Journal coverage, which spans from the 1800s to the present, includes international material selected from periodicals in dozens of languages.

How do I find help documentation and tutorials with EBSCO Connect?

Discover the new face of EBSCO Support at https://connect.ebsco.com/. There you will find important information about the databases and services offered by EBSCO. Everything is available in an accessible and easy-to-find form. During the training, we will show how to search for information and helpful materials available on the website. We will also see the EBSCO Academy, where users can find numerous videos, improve their search skills by taking part in mini courses, and view archived training recordings.

VMU Leonidas Donskis Library is open 24!

02-14 December Leonidas Donskis Library (V. Putvinskio str. 23, Kaunas) will work 24 hours a day from Monday to Friday. We are open until 6 p.m. on Saturdays, we are closed on Sundays.

Let’s not forget the rules:

From 9p.m, entrance to the library – through the inner courtyard. Only VMU students can visit the library at night (21:00 – 8:00), so at the entrance you will need to show a document proving VMU student status (LSP, ISIC).
From 8:00 to 21:00, library staff will work in the library, later the order will be supervised by security staff.
From 9 p.m., only the library will be open, so it is strictly forbidden to go to other premises of the building (except for toilets on the same floor).
