University students and staff can use the services of electronic library from home and other remote locations.
VMU students and staff log in with University e-mail user name and password:

- Read full text documents at the university’s licensed and tested databases, email. documents in the institutional custody, etc.
- Order publications (by logging in Library Catalog and VMU Virtual Library);
- Renew loan term, manage information on e. shelf (My account in catalog and virtual library, when logged in);
- Get library notifications by e-mail.
Access to university e-mail postal data can not be transferred to other persons.

Fines
Fines are charged for overdue items in order to discipline users, as items are also necessary for other readers. Fines are charged since the following day after due date and stopped when an item is returned. Fine amount – 0,03 € for every item and every delayed day. User is given a credit – 2,90 €. When this limit is reached, your library account is suspended. The largest amount to be paid – 1 basic social benefit.
How to know fine amount?
University students can see fine amount in University Student portal – http://studentas.vdu.lt, or write e-mail info@bibl.vdu.lt, call or come to any library department.Teachers and other staff – on receiving library reminder by e-mail, writing to info@bibl.vdu.lt, calling or coming to any library department.
How to pay fines?
Fines are paid in banks or transferred to VMU accounts:

! Remember to designate the surname of the individual in purpose of payment, if you pay for another person.
The payment transfer copy should be delivered to library or sent via e-mail: info@bibl.vdu.lt. The fines are cancelled only upon confirmation from the user.
Settlement with Library
Students, having completed their studies or employees before long-term internships or after terminating the contract with the University must return all borrowed items to the library and pay fines if there are any.
Upon losing or damaging an item, a user is obliged to replace it by the same edition or an equivalent item approved by the library. Information about borrowed items and fines can be found in My account in library catalogue and VMU virtual library. Loaned items are returned and replacement for lost ones is done in any library department.
! Students, having no debts, apply only to Student Affairs Department (S. Daukanto St. 27-210).
University students and teachers can request items (that are not held in the University Library collections) or article copies through the interlibrary loans service from other Lithuanian and foreign libraries, using the service of Interlibrary loan. Documents from Kaunas libraries are not requested.
University library items can be lent to other Lithuanian and foreign libraries, except rare, old books, single copies, sound, image, electronic documents, information and cartographic items, art albums.
Interlibrary loan service is available in all library departments and via e-mail: tba@bibl.vdu.lt.

Interlibrary loan is the paid service.
Items borrowed via Interlibrary Loan Service are read only in the library departments. The loan term is determined by the lending library.
Damage or loss of lent item should be covered by a reader at the price set by the library-sender
