Subscription to the scientific journal Cell
The University community has access to a subscription-based scientific journal Cell (ISSN 0092-8674), which publishes findings of unusual significance in any area of experimental biology, including cell biology, molecular biology, neuroscience, immunology, virology and microbiology, cancer, human genetics, systems biology, signaling, and disease mechanisms and therapeutics. 2021 Journal Impact Factor is 66.850 (2020 – 41.584; 2019 – 38.637). The journal is published twice monthly by Elsevier Cell Press.

Oxford University Press has invested heavily in Oxford Research Encyclopedias to provide students and scholars with reliable, up-to-date and accurate information. 24 encyclopedias in history, business and management, communication, criminology, economics and finance, education, social work, literature, politics, psychology, religion, etc. are available during the trial.

Vaclovas Biržiška library is open again
Vaclovas Biržiška Library (K. Donelaičio Str. 52) after the reconstruction of the building is open for visitors again. Open spaces, individual work rooms, new computers, rich stock of items are waiting for visitors.

Research Library Impact Award to VMU Library

Research Excellence Awards Lithuania 2022, by the international publisher Elsevier, evaluated the achievements of Lithuanian higher education institutions and individuals in the field of research. Vytautas Magnus University was awarded the Research Growth Award for the fastest annual growth rate of the institution’s scientific output in the last twenty years (2002 – 2022). Lina Bloveščiūnienė, Director of the Library, was nominated in the Research Library Impact category for the development of the Research Management System VMU CRIS.
The awards were presented on 18 October 2022 at the international event of Lithuanian Research Libraries Association (LMBA) and publisher Elsevier “Towards Future Research Impact in Lithuania”. The event was dedicated to the 20th anniversary of LMBA activities, the year of Lithuanian universities. Its aim was to assess the results, dissemination and impact of two decades of Lithuanian research and to anticipate future prospects. The report “A Research Landscape Assessment of Lithuania” prepared by Elsevier was presented to the participants and a discussion was held on the promotion of scientific research, open science, citizen involvement and future developments.

Academic Video Online delivers video titles spanning the widest range of subject areas including anthropology, business, counseling, film, health, history, music, and more. Curated for the educational experience, the massive depth of content and breadth of content-types (such as documentaries, films, demonstrations, etc.) makes this database a useful resource for faculty and students alike.

- Central and Eastern European Academic Source
Central & Eastern European Academic Source is a research database of full-text scholarly journals published in Central and Eastern European countries. Recently updated, this multidisciplinary and multilingual database covers many subjects including business, economics, history, STEM and law. Content includes over 2,100 full-text titles (with more than 1,450 newly added full-text publications), including over 100 Lithuanian journals. Multilingual content represents 60 languages. Subjects include business, economics, education, humanities, history, international relations, law, literature, medicine, politics, social sciences, STEM.

EconLit with Full Text is a full-text database for economic research. It offers hundreds of full-text journals, including the American Economic Association journals with no embargo. It also contains all of the indexing in EconLit, which adheres to the high-quality JEL classification system for economics literature. Content includes: More than 370 active full-text, non-open access journals; 15 full-text books, including The Handbook of World Trade; All of the indexing available in EconLit. OnArchitecture is a unique online library of original architecture-related videos intended to support architectural and design education. These interviews are supplemented by video portraits of their key projects, both buildings and installations, which attempt to capture the physical experience of the spaces they portray.
