Item request
University community members can request items stored in library open stacks and repositories.
Items are lent for:
- 1 week
- 2 weeks
- a month
- a semester
- read in place (books from certain collections).
Items that are not in library stock can be requested from other Lithuanian or foreign libraries via Interlibrary loan.
How to request items from the library?
Items are requested in VMU virtual library.
How to sign in?
VMU students and staff sign in using University e-mail login data:
User name name.surname
Password e-mail password
How to know if the request is fulfilled?
- In Virtual Library there are your Library card (upper menu), where you can see information on your requests.
In Requests window you will see the processing of requested items:
In Process: You have requested a free item and the request is being processed – the item will soon be placed on the hold shelf.
On Hold Shelf until 31/01/2022: Your request has been fulfilled, the item must be picked up at the library department where it is stored until the specified date.
Not started. Place in queue: 1, 2, 3, etc.: You have requested the item taken by another reader. You will be able to borrow it when the item is returned. If you do not want to wait in queue, cancel the request.
- Information on request fulfillment or cancellation is sent to the University e-mail.
Where to pick up requested items?
Requested items are stored on Hold shelf for 3 working days in the library department from which the request was made. Requests are canceled by email after a specified period. Requested items are lent only to the person who requested them.
