Book giving ceremony
On September 29, an honorable guest – Solveiga Silkalna, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Latvia, visited Vytautas Magnus University. During the visit, the Ambassador handed over to the University Library latest books published by the Latvian Language Agency, Latvian language textbooks, as well as a special gift from the Latvian National Library – thematic and name index of selected writings of Janis Endzelins (1873-1961), famous Latvian linguist, honorary doctor of Vytautas Magnus University (1932). The book was published in 2023 to mark the scientist’s 150th anniversary. At the university, the Ambassador was interested in the possibilities of learning the Latvian language, visited VMU Center of Letonics, L. Donskis Library and Professor‘s Memorial Cabinet, met with administration, lecturers and students.
