  • On the 13th September at 11.45 a.m. was the meeting with the participants of the 29th International Conference of European Association of Japanese Resource Specialists (EAJRS). The meeting took place in V. Biržiška Library (K. Donelaičio St. 52-218) during which everybody got acquainted with Asian Studies Center activities, as well as Japanese collections in Asian Books Space and other information resources for Asian studies.  (2018-09-12) 
  • "Cherry Blossoms Association‘s" (Japan) book donation ceremony was held on the 8th of September, 2018 at VMU Vaclovas Biržiška library. This year the NGO “Cherry Blossoms Association" (Japan) is not only enriching Kaunas with young sakura trees that will become a part of Kaunas – Japan friendship park. To contribute to the education and future of the Lithuanian youth the association will kindly donate books about Japan in English to VMU library Asian Book space. These books will find their new home at VMU library and will fill up the space dedicated to Asian literature – one of the biggest collections for Asian societies and culture among Baltic States. MORE (2018-09-07)

  • The books exhibition “Manga (unusual pictures) invites you to get acquainted“ is displayed near Vaclovas Biržiška Library (K. Donelaičio St. 52, 1st floor). It is devoted to Sugihara Week (September 3–9, 2018) and to the 29 EAJRS conference „(G)localizing Japanese Studies Resources“ (September 12–15, 2018) organized by Centre for Asian Studies of Vytautas Magnus University. (2018-09-06)
  • The exhibition „Jonas Vileišis: the work for the sake of Kaunas and Lithuania“ dedicated to the Signatory of the Act of Independence of Lithuania, a long-time Burgomaster of Kaunas Jonas Vileišis is displayed near Vaclovas Biržiška Library (K. Donelaičio St. 52, 1st floor). MORE  (2018-08-22)
